Ready to Chalk Your Walk(ways)?
HELP SPREAD HOPE & INSPIRATION IN YOUR COMMUNITY
THIS SUICIDE AWARNESS MONTH, STHS BEHAVIORAL INVITES YOU TO GRAB SOME CHALK AND GET CREATIVE TO LET THOSE STRUGGLING KNOW THEY’RE NOT ALONE.
Suicide is a serious public health problem that can have lasting effects on communities. Alarmingly, a person commits suicide every 11 minutes in the United States, per the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, making it a leading cause of death in the country – especially among teens and young adults.
Knowing how to help someone experiencing suicidal thoughts can be a challenge, but South Texas Health System Behavioral is helping raise awareness for suicide prevention across the Rio Grande Valley while letting those struggling with their mental health know they are not alone.
But we need your help! This National Suicide Prevention Month, we invite you to join us in spreading hope and inspiration throughout the community with uplifting chalk designs and messages in your neighborhoods, places of work and at your home or business.
Simply grab some chalk and get creative throughout the month of September!
We encourage you to share your own chalk messages on social media. Use the hashtag #STHSChalkTheWalk and tag us, so we can share your beautiful messages on our accounts. Throughout the month of September, STHS will repost selected images.
If you’d like to have your artwork featured at our upcoming Chalk the Walk event on Saturday, September 13, please submit your photos to the STHS Marketing Department via email to STHSMarketing@uhsinc.com. Any questions, please call (956) 388-2033.
